Official Deathly Hallows Trailer Released

image Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one (wikipedia), directed by David Yates, the first-part of the epic movie finale to the Harry Potter series is set to launch this Fall 2010

The movie, which was originally scheduled to launch this summer, was sent back to production so the movie could be re-worked into 3D and IMAX 3-D along with Warner Brother’s big screen remake, Clash of the Titans.

By the way, finishing this series in 3-D will be, um, ginormously epic.

Possibly playing off the worldwide Twilight buzz surrounding the Eclipse premier today (news, images), Warner Brothers launches the official trailer (which I first spotted on TechLand) available in 1080p HD on YouTube and already trending #1 on Twitter and being reposted around the web on sites like Leaky Cauldron and MuggleNet.

Watch the trailer below. Make sure you dim the lights and play it full-screen:

Watched the Deathly Hallows trailer and lost my excitement for Twilight because I was reminded of what epic really means.less than a minute ago via web

imageIn my opinion, it may actually be good to let the momentum build for another few months while fans of the genre drop their bucks on Eclipse and/or visiting the Wizarding World in Orlando.

Also, going along with the buzz is Time Magazine’s Five Reasons Harry Potter beats Twilight Any Day

Some people are upset the movie is being split in two, but I am personally glad for it.  There are so many twists and details that need to be explored in Seven that I just cant see happening well in just one movie.  If both movies are 3 hours long, we might just get there.

I can’t wait to see more about:

  • Harry learning more about the Deathly Hallows
  • The battles
  • Finding Griffindor’s sword
  • Snape’s truth revealed
  • The Close
  • Kings Cross Station
