Prediction: PHILO Will Be Huge


Getting sucked into a mini-series may be cool especially when you can gloat around the watercooler about the 67 hours of life you lost watching a TV show.

Presumably getting its name from inventor of television Philo T. Farnsworth,  PHILO aims to "make TV social (again) by letting you connect with your friends and watch, chat, score points, and win awards and credits together."

You can browse around television shows and see what your friends are watching and saying, what’s popular, what’s on that you may like based on what you’ve watched, or scroll through a guide to see what else is on. Once you find something you like…. Tune-in!

Mashable reports that "Foursquare-like badges are on tap for users who check in to programs regularly." For example, "If you watch Seinfeld a lot, you might get the Art Vandelay badge. "

Currently, PHILO is in public beta with an app available for iPhoneBlackberry and Android apps are coming soon.
